Do Baby Ferrets Make Better Pets?

For anyone thinking of having a pet ferret, you must decide between adopting an adult or purchasing one of those adorable little baby ferrets that you can find in most pet stores.
Before you get taken in by those cuddly little faces, remember that there are many adult ferrets in shelters that are in need of a good home. These ferrets will make great pets and you can probably get one that is quite young even from a shelter. Unfortunately, many people do not realize what the commitment needed to care for a ferret which is why these wonderful animals end up in shelters and rescue home. Before you adopt a ferret – either adult or baby, make sure you understand and are ready to commit to what it takes to properly care for these lively and entertaining pets.
I think that adult ferrets can make just as good pets as baby ferrets and may even be a bit easier to care for in the beginning. No matter what their age, ferrets are very curious and will get into anything and everything. My pet ferret lived to be 7 ½ years old and was running around and getting into all kinds of mischief right up until the end. When they are babies, however, they do have a bit more energy and are even more inquisitive so they will require more supervision.
If you do adopt a baby ferret (called a kit), you will have the additional job of training it. An adult might already be trained, unless the previous owner didn’t take the time. You will need to train your ferret not to nip as well as to use the litter box. During training, you will have quite a few ferret accidents to deal with and these can be a bit messy.
In addition to the added job of training, baby ferrets will also cost much more than a ferret you adopt from a shelter. Also, although most ferrets are good natured, you can be assured that the demeanor of a ferret from a shelter is already known while a kit could grow up to be nippy or cantankerous and you have no way of knowing ahead of time.
Should you decide that you must have a baby ferret, there are many things that you will need to provide him including toys, entertainment and a safe environment. There are special toys for ferrets, but they also like cat and kitten toys so you can buy these for him too. Be sure to avoid anything made from flimsy rubber as they can eat this and will not digest it well. A cage is important when it comes to providing him a safe environment as your ferret needs to be safely secured when you are not there to watch him.
Whether you get a baby or not, the ferret makes an ideal pet for almost anyone. Be sure, however, before you adopt a ferret that you have the time and energy necessary to provide this lively pet with the care and attention he needs.

Typically, the average ferret lifespan ranges from six to eight years, depending on the ferret’s overall condition and susceptibility to illnesses. To determine how long do ferrets live is like bringing in the best diets and provisions for your pet. For as you provide them with the best attention and care, the more rewarding it feels.
On the contrary, not all domestic ferrets are as fortunate. Several medical and health conditions prevented many of these pets to enjoy life and live longer. Yes, these creatures have found their way towards our hearts and havens, but the mere idea of not caring for them properly adds up to this dilemma among ferret owners.
Naturally, an owner is keen on knowing relative details. The only objective is to lessen ferret diseases and determine fairly how long do ferrets live. Since the average ferret lifespan brings us to a number of six years, there are indeed ways on how we can make their lives better.
As part of the Mustelidae family, ferrets are expected to be inquisitive and energetic. Curiosity is an inherent trait among these pets and it is very typical to find them inside dark holes and small spaces. As responsible owners, it is up to us to ensure their health and safety. By referring to the following tips, we can somehow make a ferret lifespan longer if not well-lived.
1. Ensure that all veterinary checkups are achieved. Try to keep up with every scheduled vaccine and treatment.
2. Study their behavior and learn more about your pet. Try to see if symptoms of relative diseases are present.
3. Give them the right kinds of foods. Do not feed them with sweets or seeds. Keep in mind that ferrets rely on a high protein and low fiber diet, which is why it is best to give them cooked chicken and other meats.
4. Spare yourself from unnecessary stress by finding the most appropriate cage and accessories. It is wise to keep your pets busy and ferret toys are the best alternatives.
5. Lastly, if we really want to maximize our time with our pets and substantiate how long do ferrets live, it is vital to keep them safe. Adopt the methods involved in ferret proofing, be it on your homes or shelters.
To determine how long do ferrets live is like trying your best to equate every detail with numbers. Your pets are your best friends. Together, you are sharing not only time but memories. Six to eight years might have been the determinants of how long do ferrets live, but it will never equate the time and bond you have experienced with your pet.

Ferrets as Pets – Things You Need to Know

Ferrets may not be a common animal choice for pets. Many people find ferrets nice to have and as easy to keep as pet, if not easier, as other typical pets like dogs and cats.
By the year of 1996, according to a study by California State Bird and Mammal Conservation Program, approximately 800,000 or more domestic ferrets were probably kept as pets in United States.
The ferret is a domestic mammal. Domestic ferrets characteristically have brown, black, white or mixed fur, average length of about 20 inches including a 5 inch tail. The average life span of ferrets, barring accidents or serious illness, is 7 – 10 years. Full grown females weight about 2 pounds, while males are larger.
Ferrets belong to the weasel family (Mustelidae) and are related to mink, skunks, weasels, otters and badgers. Ferrets are the only domestic subspecies in this family and they should not be confused with the Blackfooted Ferret, an endangered species which is only distantly related. Today, the ferret is become the third most common uncaged pet in North America, after cats and dogs.
The origin of the ferret as domestic animals is unclear. But probably that ferrets have been tamed for about 2,500 or more years ago and probably were tamed for vermin control and hunting. Their closest wild relatives are the European polecat and the Steppe polecat, which probably the ferrets domesticated from, found in Eastern European forests southwards into the Balkans and the Caucasus. The ferrets are still used for hunting rabbit in some parts of the world today.
Ferrets spend 14 to 18 hours a day sleeping, they are most active during dusk and dawn. Though ferrets sleep more than most other domesticated animals, they are very active when awake and will seek to be released from their cage. Ferrets are energetic, curious, interested in their surroundings, and often actively solicit play with humans.
They also have a strong nesting instinct and will repeatedly carry small objects to hidden locations.
A common ferret problem to many pet owners is introducing new ferrets to their population. But once settled in, ferrets quickly establish their territory and set the house rules: What’s theirs is theirs, what’s yours is up for grabs. They explore; find and make nests; select and hide treasures. Anything that can be turned over, inside-out, or dragged off, no matter the size, is fair game. In pairs, they prance, dance, wrestle, and hunt down each other, dogs, cats, and people with gleeful chittering. They are there to inspect every activity and supervise every undertaking.
Choosing a ferret as a pet? Before getting a ferret, research the animal. Talk to people who own ferret, read books about ferrets.
Ferrets are not like cats or dogs, and have many special needs which are not obvious for new owner. What about the food for ferrets? Ferrets are carnivores that require at least 22% fat and 34% protein from animal sources. Some kitten foods probably can be used, as long as they provide the high protein and fat content required by the ferrets. But most adult cat foods and kitten foods are not recommended as they have a low protein content and high fiber. There are many commercial ferret food products. Choose one that right for your pet.
Ferrets and Children
Ferrets can be good pets for children, but not good pets for very young children. You must consider a potential danger to a human child by a pet ferret, and potential danger to a pet ferret by a human child.
If you aren’t home much, have children under the age of ten, don’t enjoy chaos, or have a busy lifestyle which would prevent a ferret from roaming freely, then these pet are not for you.
Having a ferret as pet can be a fun and exciting experience, as long as you can provide for a ferret’s needs. You will have a wonderful, loving, furry, little companion who lives his life to its fullest and will help you enjoy your own even more.

Adrenal Disease in Ferrets: Causes, Signs, Treatment & Prevention

In the ferret, adrenal disease – or hyperadrenocorticism – most commonly occurs when a tumor or lesion on the adrenal glands causes an overproduction of the hormones produced by the adrenal glands. Adrenal disease is most common in ferrets over the age of three years, but it can affect ferrets as young as a year old. Adrenal disease is one of the most prevalent ferret diseases, and there is no definitive test for it. Ferret owners need to know as much as possible about it to be able to recognize it and help the ferret after he is diagnosed by the veterinarian.
CAUSES
While we don’t know for sure what exactly causes adrenal disease in ferrets, most theories point to two possible causes:
Spaying and neutering at a young age
Many large ferret breeders spay or neuter ferrets at the age of 5 or 6 weeks, which may cause the ferret’s body to overcompensate for the lack of normal sex hormones. Adrenal disease has occurred in ferrets that are spayed or neutered after they have reached sexual maturity, but it is not nearly as common.
Extended photoperiods
Most ferrets have been forced to adapt to their owner’s lifestyle and are exposed to at least four or five hours of artificial light in the evening in addition to the natural light during the day. This limits the time they spend in darkness, which decreases melatonin production. Too little melatonin results in overstimulation of the adrenal glands. Ferrets should have no less than 12 hours of complete darkness throughout a 24 hour period.
When a ferret develops adrenal disease, it is most likely the combination of a variety of factors. In addition to environmental factors, some ferrets are probably genetically predisposed to developing adrenal gland cancer.
SIGNS
Hair loss or hair thinning – at the base of the tail, on his feet, on his belly, in an obvious pattern, or in a patchy appearance – are classic signs of adrenal disease. There are multiple causes for hair loss in ferrets, but a ferret owner should always suspect adrenal disease and report this to his or her veterinarian, especially if the ferret is 3 years of age or older. However, while hair loss is the classic sign of adrenal disease, not all ferrets will have this sign.
Unlike other diseases, there is not a standard set of signs that a ferret with adrenal disease will always display. The range of signs that your ferret shows will depend on where the tumor is on his adrenal glands. The adrenal glands produce many hormones, so the location of the tumor will affect which hormones are overproduced. The types of hormones that are overproduced determines which signs you will see.
Here are the various signs of adrenal disease:
Hair loss, either in a symmetrical pattern or patchy with no apparent pattern *
Thinning hair
Loss of appetite
Lethargy
Papery thin or translucent looking skin, sometimes with sores from scratching
Excessive scratching and itchiness
Increase in musky body odor
Excessive grooming of self or other ferrets, including ear sucking
Sexual aggression and mating behavior in neutered males – with other ferrets, inanimate objects, etc.
Swollen vulva in spayed females
Difficulty urinating for males – this is a sign of an enlarged prostate, a condition usually associated with adrenal disease
Weakness in back legs – usually seen in advanced or extreme cases
Increased thirst, increased urination
Weight loss due to a decrease in muscle mass, but with a pot bellied appearance
* It is important to note that you may see partial or complete hair regrowth without treatment. This does not mean that your ferret is fine, it just means that the hormonal imbalances have balanced out again, probably due to a season change. The hormones will become unbalanced again, and hair loss will occur, usually more severe than before.
Always remember that you can see any combination of these signs – there is no set group of signs! Keep an eye on your ferrets as they grow older, watching for any symptoms or odd behavior. Something as seemingly innocuous as your ferret running from litter box to litter box trying to go to the bathroom should result in a trip to the veterinarian.
DIAGNOSING ADRENAL DISEASE
If your veterinarian has a lot of experience with ferrets or if your ferret has the traditional hair loss, he or she may be able to diagnose your ferret through clinical signs (symptoms).
Your veterinarian may decide to use the Adrenal Panel run by the University of Tennessee, often referred to as the “Tennessee Panel,” in cases where adrenal disease is suspected. This is a blood test that evaluates the levels of hormones and steroid production. The test is not always 100% correct, and has been known to result in false positives and false negatives, but it is the only blood test available to test for adrenal disease.
Radiographs (x-rays) and ultrasounds help determine whether or not adrenal disease is present, but can be misleading. Diseased adrenal glands can be normal in size and shape and, therefore, an x-ray or ultrasound may not raise any concerns. However, ultrasounds can be helpful in showing prostate enlargement (a complication of adrenal disease in male ferrets).
When it comes to diagnosis, if your ferret is displaying any of the obvious signs, your veterinarian will probably suggest beginning treatment rather than spending money on expensive tests and other diagnostic measures. Ferrets can suffer from adrenal disease for a long time before actually showing symptoms, so no matter how your veterinarian arrives at the diagnosis, it’s important to commence treatment immediately after the diagnosis has been made.
TREATMENT
Your veterinarian may opt to use any of the following options to treat your ferret’s adrenal disease:
Surgery
This is the most common treatment for adrenal disease, and is the only way to completely remove the tumor. It is also the most recommended treatment by most veterinarians. If your veterinarian seems at all hesitant about the surgery or does not perform surgeries, ask for a recommendation to a more experienced ferret veterinarian.
If your ferret has already had surgery to remove one gland and adrenal tumors develop in the remaining gland, your veterinarian may decide that surgery is not the best choice. Ferrets that have both glands removed may develop Addison’s disease, which is a severe or complete deficiency of the hormones made in the adrenal glands. Your veterinarian will probably want to check your ferret’s cortisol (a hormone produced by the adrenal glands) levels within three days of the surgery.
Though surgery is the only option that could completely rid your ferret of adrenal disease, it is important for you to know that there are risks involved with surgery.
If the tumor is on the right adrenal gland, your veterinarian may choose not to remove it. The right adrenal gland is directly adjacent to the vena cava, the largest vein in the body, and there could be serious complications.
If any microscopic piece of affected adrenal tissue remains, the tumor can grow back either on the same side, or the opposite side.
There is always a chance that the ferret may not make it through the surgery or through the recovery period in the first few days after the procedure is done.
Discuss all of the risks extensively with your veterinarian before making any decisions. Some ferrets are just not good surgical candidates, either due to age, health or both, and with these ferrets your veterinarian will probably want to go the medical treatment route.
Medical
Your veterinarian may suggest medical treatment options in cases where surgery cannot be performed, either due to the health of the ferret or other issues. These options include:
Lupron Depot Injections
Lupron Depot may be prescribed at 1 month, 3 month, or 4 month intervals. “Depot” refers to the fact that the entire dosage is released over the given time period. This means that your ferret will need to get this shot at the appropriate time for the rest of his life. Lupron may shrink the tumor, but in most cases, it only affects the symptoms.
Even if all symptoms cease, Lupron must continue to be administered. Lupron is a synthetic version of GnRH (gonadotropin release hormone), and it works by desensitizing the pituitary gland, which stops the production of the hormones that are overstimulating the adrenal glands. So if the Lupron shots are stopped, the pituitary gland resumes its normal function, and all of the problems start again.
If your veterinarian recommends doing surgery, but you can’t do it right away for whatever reason, some veterinarians may recommend that the ferret receive Lupron in the meantime. This may prevent the disease from progressing any further and, at the very least, may make your ferret more comfortable by alleviating some of the symptoms.
Melatonin Implants
Melatonin is a natural hormone that serves many functions in your ferret’s body, one of which is to inhibit the release of GnRH (gonadotropin releasing hormone). Less GnRH means that the pituitary gland releases fewer hormones, which means that the adrenal glands are stimulated less.
Melatonin can be used in oral (liquid or pill) or implant form. While you can use oral melatonin, the success or failure of it depends on the time of day it is given. It needs to be administered exactly 7 – 9 hours after sunrise to mimic the natural release of melatonin. If given at this time every single day, oral melatonin is extremely effective. Unfortunately many ferret owners are not home during this time. A more convenient way to administer melatonin effectively is to use Ferretonin, a melatonin implant. Implants last about 3 – 4 months, and provide a steady level of melatonin over that time period.
Melatonin implants alone cannot be used to treat adrenal disease, and the best results are seen if Melatonin implants are used in conjunction with Lupron Depot.
Medications to avoid
Lysodren (mitotane) was formerly used as a common treatment for adrenal disease, but studies have shown that Lysodren doesn’t stop the stimulation of the adrenal glands and causes low blood sugar. This is a concern, as insulinoma and adrenal disease are often seen together, and ferrets with insulinoma struggle with low blood sugar already. Overdosages or incorrect dosages of Lysodren were also known to cause Addison’s Disease.
Nizoral (Ketoconazole) is used to treat Cushing’s disease (hyperadrenocorticism) in dogs, which is completely different from adrenal disease (also hyperadrenocorticism) in ferrets. Though they are the same disease, the same drugs cannot be used to treat both.
Vetoryl (Trilostane) is also used in dogs with Cushing’s Disease, and increases the level of a hormone that is already quite high in ferrets with adrenal disease. Giving this to a ferret with adrenal disease would make the problem worse.
Nolvadex (Tamoxifen) is an anti-estrogen medicine in humans. However, it actually has estrogen-like effects in ferrets, which would have a negative effect on many ferrets with adrenal disease.
PREVENTING ADRENAL DISEASE
Unfortunately, there are no proven ways to prevent adrenal disease. It is currently thought that the early neutering/spaying that is done by large scale breeders directly contributes to adrenal disease, and in most cases, the ferrets that you get will already have had this surgery. If they are intact, it is recommended that you wait until they are at least 6 months of age before getting them spayed or neutered. Adrenal disease is still seen in ferrets who are spayed or neutered after reaching sexual maturity, but it is not as prevalent.
Recent studies have shown that light cycles also contribute to the development of adrenal disease. Melatonin, as mentioned above, regulates the release of GnRH. GnRH affects how much the adrenal glands are stimulated. Melatonin is produced when the ferret is in total darkness. Most of our ferrets live in the same environment we do – natural daylight during the day, and several hours of artificial light in the evenings. This obviously shortens the amount of time the ferret is in darkness, thereby decreasing the production of melatonin. Less melatonin means more GnRH is released, which then overstimulates the adrenal glands leading to adrenal disease. A ferret’s optimal light cycle is about eight hours of light and sixteen hours of total darkness each day. It is thought that this will allow your ferret to produce the most melatonin possible. There are some ferret supplies, such as cage covers and certain types of fabric bedding, available to help you create the necessary photoperiods.
IN SUMMARY
It’s important to add one more thought here – adrenal disease is very treatable in most cases. Not treating adrenal disease is condemning your ferret to die, when this doesn’t have to be the case. If you see signs of adrenal disease in your ferret, please get him checked out as soon as possible. Ferrets can live long and happy lives after they are treated for adrenal disease, and I know we all want that for our fuzzies!

Do Ferrets Make Good Pets??

Do ferrets make good pets? Some will agree to this while others will say no. But one thing for certain is that they are in demand right now and they are ranked number three as the pet to have in the home. If you are still not convinced, perhaps reading 10 good reasons will make you reconsider.
First, ferrets are cute. They come in black, brown, white or with mixed fur. They are longer than hamsters as they can grow up to 20 inches in length, 5 inches in height and weigh about 2 to 4 pounds. These creatures can live for 7 to 10 years with tender and loving care from their owner.
Second, they are very playful creatures. This will allow you to hold them instead of just looking through the glass to see what they are doing.
Third, they are very affectionate, friendly and sociable even if there is another ferret in the house.
Fourth, ferrets are intelligent animals. They can be trained to perform some tricks and toilet trained so you don’t see any litter or stain on your carpet.
Fifth, these creatures do not make a lot of noise in the noise. The only thing you have to be concerned about is cleaning up the mess that they caused.
Sixth, because ferrets are small, you don’t need to buy a huge cage. Surely, the ideal kind which measures 18” x 18” x 30” will not take that much space inside your home.
Seventh, ferrets are also easy to feed. Just make sure that what you buy contains high levels of protein and low levels of fat. This must never be rich in carbs or sugar or ever replaced with food that is intended for other animals.
Eighth, they are very curious creatures. They love to crawl to dark places like inside your pants or under the couch. They love to hide as well as jump from high places.
Ninth, every animal needs to exercise and giving your ferret a workout is not that difficult. You can take them out for a walk using a small harness.
Lastly, each ferret is different so your experience is much different with another just like the people you meet in the neighborhood.
If you are thinking of getting a ferret, you have to decide whether you want to buy one for adopt it from a shelter. You will also have to check if it is legal to own one where you live and if there is a vet that will treat it if there are any problems. You have to be one hundred percent sure you are ready to take on the responsibility because most shelters are not willing to take it back and this creature will have a hard time adjusting to the wild if you choose to set it free.
Ferrets can only survive if they are entertained and are in a safe environment. This means making your home ferret proof because they could cause serious damage to your home and harm to themselves. So although you have a cage, remember that they need to come out so both you and the creature can have some fun.
Just like other pets, they also need to be cleaned, vaccinated and undergo regular checkups.

How to Train Ferrets – Tips to Stop a Ferrets Biting

Admirable pets with abounding energy, ferrets are habitual nippers. A Ferret bite is painful as is its habit. Ferrets bite by habit and mostly when they are playful with their peers. So, once you acquire a pet ferret you need to train these little fellows quickly. Be patient with them as you would with any puppy and use a firm but gentle method to train them. If you are tired of ferrets biting you, follow these tips to train them.
Before you commence with training your pet ferret, determine why it bites. Perhaps the pet is injured and the wound has not healed yet. So when you cuddle, you could be disturbing the wound. And every time you pick him up, he bites to get free. Your quick reaction to free him makes the ferret to realize that if he bites, he can free himself.
Another reason your ferret could bite is when the environment is unsuitable and has nicotine smells, dust or alcohol smells which might irritate the pet. Furthermore, confining the ferret can be frustrating to their playful attitude, which they may vent through biting.
Stay firm and signal your pet a staunch `NO` when he bites. If he still bites, leave him and walk away from him. He will sense your resentment to biting and understand biting is not being tolerated. Resume playing when he calms down. Repeating this process will make him understand that he should not bite. If he does not reciprocate, put him in a cage whenever he bites and let him out only when he calms down. Repeat this process every time you get nipped. Since ferrets do not like being caged, he will respond.
As has been advised in the beginning, you need to be extremely patient in dealing with your pet ferret. If he does not respond soon, you may have to be more aggressive with him. Pick him up by the neck, nudge him, shake him, and call out a firm NO. A light tap on his nose will also help him understand. According to experts, you can spray a bitter tasting spray on the paws to discourage ferrets biting.
Finally, it is your love and commitments towards you ferret that will bring out an appropriate response. And do not forget to reward your pet with his favorite food every time that he obeys.

Ferrets can be a source of enjoyment and delight for you and your whole family. Though, there are a number of things one should think about before you can decide on acquiring a ferret as a pet or not. Here are some things to contemplate about before you head out to the ferret adoption:
Cost
Ferrets can be very expensive. They can cost a much as 0 with maintenance to top that. Food expense is around . Since they are naturally curious and intelligent, they tend to run around the house and may cause some trouble. To prevent them from playing with your things make sure to stash them in a safe area they cannot reach. Some of this creatures naughtiness will never go away so it is best to give them much patience. If you think you can not handle this, then adopting ferret is not for you.
Young children
The age of your children is something you should also consider when thinking about adoption. Children does not enough knowledge when it comes to proper handling of pets. They may tug, pull, squeeze or drop the pet accidentally. This may injure the ferret or the pet may react through biting them.
Household changes
Before you decide to take care of a ferret, make sure everyone in the household is ok with it. Ferrets are attracted by small objects like toys, remote control, car keys, boxes, trash cans, and the like. These items should be protected and stored at the right place to prevent damage.
Other pet at home
Cats are pets that ferrets get along better compared to dogs. This is most applicable if they grew up together with cats. The reason for this is that dogs may bite, chase, scratch, hunt, injure or kill the ferret. They should not be left together with guinea pigs, lizards, gerbils, birds, hamsters or rabbits for there is a chance for the ferret to kill them or eat these animals.
Legality
The legality of owning a ferret is something you should also consider. Does your area allow ferrets? There are states that do not require permits, there are those that do, and there are those that do not allow ferrets totally. One should review the law in order before deciding to purchase a ferret.
Ferrets are lovable and they are fun creatures to be with. They tend to love their owners dearly, so it upsets them to be separated from them. Nevertheless, one should consider a number of things before purchasing a ferret. If you know that you cannot perform the tasks required to own one, then it is best not to purchase one. On the other hand, if you think you got what it takes to own one, then prepare yourself for a delightful life with your ferret.

Caring For Rabbits and Ferrets

Ferrets are adorable pets much like cats and rabbits and that is why caring for ferrets is as much fun as caring for rabbits is. All of these animals are adored more for their looks and activities. Ferrets belong to the weasel family, the same as wolverines. They are hence are distinctly related to dogs and cats. They are carnivorous and love meat products. They are active for whatever few hours they are awake and the best part is that they can be trained, although that would require some patience.
One thing that is very similar between ferrets and rabbits is that both love toys and chewing. Ferrets love climbing up and down. Hence wheels and hammocks are things that can keep them very much entertained and busy. Both rabbits and ferrets prefer burrows. They love hiding in them and running through them. You can find spade kits that can be used to dig small 3 feet burrows for ferrets and rabbits to play in the backyard.
You must also ensure that the cage of ferrets is clean and has good neat bedding. Both ferrets and rabbits can be trained to use the litter pans which will ensure that they can be left to wander and run around the house. Rabbits are more cozy animals that love sleeping in the corners or in tunnel like environment. Ferrets are rodents too, but they would enjoy a trip outdoors once in a while. It also helps build their senses and makes them more comfortable with new surroundings.
A ferret’s diet should consist of high amount of proteins and fat and very less fiber. Rabbits need food with higher fiber content. While rabbits can be fed with hay, green grass, carrots and other vegetables, ferrets can be fed with meat products and ferret or cat food including kibble which is crunchy. Rabbit food also includes pellets but 2 – 4 cups of vegetables is the best possible diet for them.
Thus be it the habitat, diet or the attention, caring for ferrets isn’t very different from caring for rabbits, which is why more and more people are choosing to own the adorable ferrets.
