Pet Cages

You can keep a rabbit in a dog cage inside or outside. You can use hay or stray for winter bedding and summer bedding is optional. They eat grass, weeds, vegetables, and rabbit pellets. If you have time and patience you can litter train them or they can go in their cage and you can clean it once a week.
They can play with little cat toys, (like balls with bells) and they like to chew on untreated wood blocks soaked in salt water.

If you live in the UK you can go on freecycle on google and u can get one for free but other wise get one at your local pet shop Dont use a dog cage outside cause it will be to cold and other animals could attack it or give it a heart attack! You can keep it inside but it will be happier out doors…
They use wood shaving and lots of hay you can use shredded paper to make it cheaper!
They eat rabbit food, washed grass and every veg but cabbage! they can die from it!

Well…if you look on Craigslist or Kijiji you can get not only the cage, but also the rabbit and his accessories for cheap. Just be sure you’re not getting scammed. All kinds of nice, cheap stuff on those sites.

And yes, Rabbits can use shavings on the bottom of their cages. Usually there is a grated bottom though, so the poo can fall through into the pan. This way the rabbit never steps in his feces. Avoid Cedar and Pine shavings..try to use Aspen, Yesterday’s News, or CareFresh.

Rabbits should have a diet of fortified pellet, timothy hay, and fresh veggies daily.

You can litter train a rabbit..however that’s not really necessary if you have a grated-bottom floor.

You can entertain a rabbit simply by giving him a variety of fun toys, and just talking and playing with him.

Originally designed with guinea pigs in mind but make a large one and put a lid on it and you have an excellent rabbit cage.

Depends on what kind of shavings you’re talking about. Pine and cedar shavings should never be used for ANY animal. They are softwoods and contain dangerous phenols that damage the respiratory system and liver. Aspen shavings are fine, as aspen is a hardwood and does not contain the phenols.

You absolutely can keep it indoors all the time, in fact indoors is best. You can take your rabbit outdoors for a romp around in an outdoor playpen too.

If you litter train them they will learn to potty in their litter box. I’d highly recommend spaying/neutering your rabbit. Fixing rabbits cuts down on many behavioral issues (marking, aggression, territorialism, humping), makes litter box training easier, and has some great health benefits.
